  1. The issues are not just in the hiring of qualified people, it is also in the training of your existing work force. Many companies want to go out and hire people with the expectation that they know all the ins and outs of their profession. No problem there, but professions are ever evolving, just like the rest of society, and continued education must therefore evolve. Companies must be willing to budget training and education annually to meet this need.

  2. This was an interesting article. However, it talked a lot about finding and hiring qualified accountants that know what they are doing. Every business is different and has different ways of doing things. People need to have training when they are hired by a company in order to complete the work the company hired them to do, in the way that the company wants it done. Trust is definitely a big issue in accounting, with all the companies out there stealing people's retirement money. Everyone should have someone checking thier work to make sure everything is on the level. There should not be one person in charge because it's hard to know who can trust when you don't know the person.
